Ewa Futkowska is a Toronto-based gallery Director/Curator, and a marketing manager for the non-profit arts sector. Earning a degree in Arts Management, Art History, and International Studies from the University of Toronto at Scarborough, Ewa is driven by artistic expression of life in all its forms and from all cultural influences. As an active promoter and administrator in the Toronto artistic community, Ewa has served as the Marketing Director of the Toronto Sinfonieta under Artistic Director Maciej Jaskiewicz. She was also involved in the promotional management of the dance and theatre programming in the Harbourfront Centre including the annual Du Maurier World Stage Theatre Festival and World Moves Festival. Today, Ewa is involved in the management of fundraising campaigns for the Toronto non-profit arts sector, including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Royal Ontario Museum and Art Gallery of Ontario. Ewa is also and active philanthropist, dedicating her spare time to development projects both locally and abroad. In Canada she volunteered as the special event coordinator for Dignitas, as well as the University of Toronto Model United Nations. Abroad, her humanitarian involvement includes basic housing infrastructure projects outside Nairobi, Kenya, and English educational programs in Shangxi, China. At the Fiorano Gallery, Ewa’s main objective is to establish the gallery space as a Toronto’s premier of local surfacing talent. Although the galleries walls will feature some distinguished names, Ewa recognises the challenge and thrill of the visceral selection of artistic talent, selecting works based on their artistic expression rather than notoriety.
